Questions before you sign in
Is WorthSync a budgeting app?
No. WorthSync is focused on net worth: assets, liabilities, dated snapshots, household sharing, and longer-horizon planning. It does not categorise your spending, and it never asks for a bank login.
Can I use it without a household?
Yes, and there is nothing to set up first. Every account gets its own private workspace the moment you sign up — you are a household of one — and solo tracking is free forever. Inviting a partner or family member is optional; that is what turns on shared account visibility and the monthly recap on the paid Household plan.
Do I have to connect my bank?
No. WorthSync is manual-first by design: you enter dated balances yourself. There is no aggregator, no credential vault, and no third party reading your transactions — which is exactly why the benchmark and allocation views work without one.
Is there a mobile app?
Yes — on the App Store for iPhone and on Google Play for Android, both free. They sign in to the same account as the web app, support offline balance entry, and can be locked with Face ID or a fingerprint. Plans are chosen and managed on the web at app.worthsync.com.
Where does the app live?
The application is at app.worthsync.com — that is where you sign in, enter snapshots, and manage your plan. This domain is the public marketing and content layer.

Pricing FAQ
Do I need a household to subscribe?
No. Every account is given its own household the moment you sign up, so you can subscribe straight away with nothing to create or join first. Billing is scoped to that household, which is what lets a plan cover everyone in it once you invite someone.
I found WorthSync in the Play Store — where do I subscribe?
On the web. The mobile apps contain no purchase flow, so plans are chosen at app.worthsync.com/pricing in a browser. It is the same account either way: subscribe on your laptop and the app on your phone picks it up.
Are these the prices I will actually be charged?
Yes. The figures on this page are read directly from our Stripe catalogue, which is the billing system of record, so they are the same numbers checkout will show you. Tax, where it applies, is calculated at checkout based on your location.
Do paid plans renew automatically, and how do I cancel?
Yes, they renew automatically at the end of each billing period until you cancel. The app shows the exact price, how often it is charged and how to cancel right next to the Subscribe button, and again on the checkout page. Cancel any time from Settings → Billing in the app, with no call or email needed: renewals stop and you keep access until the end of the period you paid for.
Can I stay on the free tier?
Yes, indefinitely. Solo covers unlimited accounts and snapshots, debt payoff, emergency runway, one active goal, and full data export. Nothing expires and no card is required.
Is there a referral program?
Yes. Every account has a referral code at app.worthsync.com/refer. When someone signs up with it, both households are rewarded: 30 days of the Household plan if you are on the free tier, or a credit against your bill if you are already subscribed.
What happens to a shared account if I cancel?
Your data stays. Shared visibility and the paid analytics are gated on the plan, so they stop being available, but every account, snapshot, and goal remains in your ledger and can be exported in full at any time.

Security and privacy — FAQ
Do you ever see my bank credentials?
No, because there are none to see. WorthSync has no bank connection of any kind — no Plaid, no MX, no screen-scraping. You type balances in yourself, on the dates you have them. That is the whole design, and it is why there is no credential vault to compromise.
What exactly is encrypted?
Account names, institution names and balance figures are encrypted at the column level inside Postgres using pgcrypto, and decrypted only through a key the application injects for the duration of a request. That is stronger than volume-level encryption alone, which protects a stolen disk but not a leaked query result.
Can someone in my household see my private accounts?
No. Visibility is set per account, and the default is private. An account only becomes visible to your household when you change it to shared read-only or shared full-access. Joining a household exposes nothing on its own.
Do you sell or share my data?
No. We run no advertising trackers and no cross-site cookies, and we do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under CCPA/CPRA. Traffic analytics on the marketing site are cookieless and aggregate; the one measurement cookie we set is first-party and never leaves our own domains. The cookie policy describes it in full.
Is my data used to train AI models?
No. The one feature that answers questions about your numbers is computed by deterministic rules over your own snapshots — no external model is sent your data.
What happens to my data if I stop paying?
It stays. Shared visibility and the paid analytics are gated on the plan, so they stop being available, but every account, snapshot and goal remains in your ledger and can be exported in full at any time.
How do I delete my account?
There is a dedicated page describing the process and exactly what it removes. Deletion is permanent and wipes the account together with its ledger.

Net worth tracking for couples — FAQ
Do we both need an account?
Yes — each person signs in with their own account, and each account starts in its own private workspace. Joining up is one step: one of you invites the other, they accept, and you land in the same household. You then decide, account by account, what the other person can see.
Can I keep some accounts private from my partner?
Yes. Visibility is set per account — private, shared read-only, or shared full-access — so you can share most accounts while keeping specific ones private.
Does this replace our shared spreadsheet?
Yes. Instead of one fragile shared sheet, you each log dated snapshots and WorthSync produces combined household trend lines automatically.
Is it free for couples?
Solo tracking is free. Shared household views, the monthly recap, and the analytics engines are part of the paid Household plan, billed once to the household rather than per person.

Spreadsheet alternative — FAQ
Do I have to connect my bank?
No. WorthSync is manual-first: you log dated balance snapshots yourself. There is no mandatory bank syncing or account aggregation.
How is this better than my spreadsheet?
You keep manual control, but WorthSync handles the math — period-over-period deltas, year-over-year trends, and account lifecycle history — so nothing silently breaks.
Can I bring my existing spreadsheet with me?
Yes. There is a CSV import and a bulk backfill screen for historical snapshots, so years of month-end rows can come across as dated snapshots rather than being retyped. Export is just as open: CSV, PDF, or full-fidelity JSON, whenever you want.
Is my financial data private?
Sensitive fields are encrypted and access is enforced at the database layer with Row-Level Security, rather than relying on a shared file's permissions.
Is it free?
Yes — solo net-worth tracking is free forever. Paid plans add household sharing, the analytics engines, and the monthly recap.

Mobile apps — FAQ
Is the WorthSync app free to download?
Yes, on both stores. The free Solo plan covers unlimited accounts, dated snapshots, debt payoff, emergency runway, one active goal, and full data export.
Which phones are supported?
iPhone on iOS 17 or later, and Android phones that meet the requirement shown on the Google Play listing. Both builds ship from the same codebase and reach the same account, so you can switch phones or run one of each in a household without splitting your ledger.
How do I subscribe to a paid plan?
In a browser, at app.worthsync.com/pricing. The mobile apps contain no purchase flow at all, so upgrading happens on the web. It is the same account either way — subscribe on your laptop and the app on your phone reflects it.
Do I need the app to use WorthSync?
No. WorthSync is a web app first and works fully in a mobile browser. The native app adds offline entry, push snapshot reminders, and a biometric lock.
